Help? 1st Draft: Christmas Postcard: I could use some help with this one. The problem may fall in the concept before it even gets to the design. This is one side of an over-sized postcard (5.5in X 8.5in). The other side includes information about holiday events. I’ll link to the design for that side once a draft is created. (here’s the link)The card will be sent to the congregation, recent visitors, and a neighborhood near the church. (that may be the first problem since there should probably be a different approach for each) I haven’t been a part of the brainstorming/planning for this piece, only assigned the task and given notes about it so there is a lack of direction as well. (another problem) The purpose would be to inform recipients of the events happening at the church during december. The events are mostly productions: Christmas/Advent Concert with Michael Card, a Children’s Program, and a Christmas Eve service. The phrase “from our house(home) to yours, Merry Christmas” was suggested. I took the concept of house/home and selected stock pics of doors with wreaths and came up with what you see above. should the wreaths be more symmetrical? colors? what do you think about the low-saturation (~24%) of the doors? is the font legible enough at the top? should i bag the whole design and go another direction?
